2014 Initiatives: Consumers and Communications

Agents Council for Technology identifies 2014 goals.

ACT2014 promises to be an exciting year for ACT and the insurance industry. The group will build on the groundwork facilitated by Jeff Yates, the executive director for ACT, who retired in Feb. from the Big “I” after 39 years of service.

Consumers are Top of Mind

A dedicated customer experience workgroup will evaluate the independent agency experience through the lens of the consumer and create a roadmap for a successful costumer experience. The workgroup, which includes subgroups for commercial and personal lines, will document key steps in the customer’s journey with agents and carriers. The group is charged with identifying needs, perceptions, process pain points and areas of industry strength and gaps. From this process, ACT will create a best practices roadmap and connect the key trends to those identified by the Strategic Future Issues workgroup.

Join a Workgroup

You can make a difference on ACT workgroups that are charged with exploring technology hot topics. In addition to the customer experience workgroup, the communications and technology agreements workgroups will kick off this year. The communications workgroup will focus on understanding and recommending a comprehensive communication strategy for ACT content. And the technology agreements workgroup, which has an initial focus of updating ACT’s Agent-Carrier Technology Agreements Guide, will also be making strides.

ACT will also continue work with existing workgroups:

  • Strategic Future Issues
  • Mobile Strategies
  • Social Web
  • Agencies of the Future
  • Policy Delivery
  • Business Intelligence
  • Mid-Commercial
  • Agency Security Best Practices

Finally, ACT will continue to support and participate on industry initiatives like the Real-Time Download Campaign, ACORD/AUGIE, the E&S Joint Working Group and the ID Federation.

Through these workgroups and the three in-person meetings, ACT will continue to effectively promote the technology and workflow needs of our industry.  For more information on ACT, please contact Ron Berg, ACT executive director.
